This was a very good book. I didn't realize the topic of the book until I first began reading it. From the beginning, it seemed to be too dark, too depressing but somehow I just couldn't put the book down and quit reading. The book takes you inside Miriam's life...the massive change from being married with two children, working to help support her family to overnight finding herself in prison and the monotony of a very structured daily life cut off from friends and family. I had to keep reading. By the time I got to the end of the book, I wondered what happened next. So I've gotten the sequel.
This is a good writer. I've read some of the reviews about the grammar and spelling. The editing appears to have taken care of those issues. I'm also glad that after reading the author's words about suffering from dyslexia that she didn't give up writing.
This is a good story and kept me interested, but the grammatical errors and typos are so numerous I found myself trying to decipher what was meant to be said. Poorly written or poorly converted to digital format? I don't know, but its interesting enough that I am still following the story in the next books.
I found that the story 'grabbed' me straight away and I couldn't put it down, and in fact couldn't wait to read the next book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good story line giving readers an opportunity to see what like was like in Holloway prison at this particular time in history.Loved it.

Couldn,t work out at first which was the first book to read but read this first and it was so interesting, I was looking
so forward to reading the next to see what happens in her family, start of a very good series
